The Greyhounds are proud to announce the addition of Jamel Riddle to the 2003 National Champions roster.

His career mark of 13.3 yards per return is fourth all-time at SU ... Has returned two punts for touchdowns, which ties for fourth on the SU career record list ... His 16.9 yards per catch ties for ninth on SU's career chart ... Redshirted in 1999.
Junior Year (2002): Started 10 of the 11 games he played ... His 13.7 yards per punt return ranked 24th nationally and third in the BIG EAST ... It is the seventh-best single-season average in SU history ... His 41 receptions ranks fourth among SU juniors and is tied for ninth on the SU single-season record list ... His 56.9 yards per game ranked 91st nationally and fourth in the BIG EAST and his 3.7 receptions per game was fifth in the BIG EAST ... Did not play at Central Florida due to violation of team rules ... Scored his first career rushing touchdown on a 17-yard reverse against BYU ... Also had one catch for 40 yards against the Cougars ... Had one reception for 11 yards and returned two punts for 16 yards against North Carolina ... Against Rhode Island had five catches for a career-best 176 receiving yards, including a career-long 87 yard touchdown reception ... The 87-yard pass play was SU's longest since 1997 and was the longest in the BIG EAST in 2002 ... He also returned four punts for 47 yards against the Rams ... Earned the BIG EAST co-Special Teams Player of the Week award for his performance at Auburn ... He posted the fifth-longest punt return in SU history and the longest since 1995 when he scored a touchdown on an 85-yard return against the Tigers ... The return was the longest in the BIG EAST in 2002 ... He had a total of 90 punt return yards on two returns and had one catch for 31 yards before leaving the game in the second quarter due to injury ... Against Pittsburgh he had three receptions for 17 yards and gained 38 yards on three punt returns ... Caught a career-high nine passes for 145 yards and one touchdown at Temple ... The nine receptions is the most for an SU player since Kevin Johnson had 11 against Temple in 1998 ... At West Virginia he had four receptions for 26 yards ... Had three catches for 48 yards and one touchdown against Rutgers ... He also gained 30 yards on two carries and returned three punts for 42 yards ... Against Virginia Tech he had eight receptions for 65 yards and returned three punts for 23 yards ... Gained 42 yards on four catches and scored a touchdown at Boston College ... He also returned two punts for 17 yards against the Eagles ... Against Miami he caught two passes for 25 yards before leaving the game with a shoulder injury in the first quarter.
Sophomore Year (2001): One of 35 players to participate in every game ... His 288 punt return yards ranks ninth on SU's single-season record list ... Ranked second in the BIG EAST with a 13.1 punt-return average ... Became the first Orangemen to return a punt for a touchdown since Quinton Spotwood (1997) when he scored on a 51-yard runback at Virginia Tech ... Also had one catch for nine yards against the Hokies ... Had one reception versus Georgia Tech for two yards ... At Tennessee caught one pass for eight yards and returned two punts for nine yards ... Caught one pass for 41 yards and returned four punts for 60 yards against Central Florida ... Against East Carolina, Riddle caught three passes for 62 yards and one touchdown ... Also recorded three punt returns for 34 yards ... At Rutgers caught one pass for 43 yards and returned one kickoff for 13 yards ... Caught four passes for 120 yards and scored on a four-yard run against Temple ... Returned four punts for 69 yards, including a career-high 53-yard return, against Temple ... Caught two passes for 38 yards against Boston College ... Against Kansas State in the Insight.com Bowl, Riddle returned seven punts for 56 yards.
Freshman Year (2000): Played in nine games at wide receiver and punt returner ... Caught one pass for eight yards against Pittsburgh ... Had one reception for six yards against Brigham Young ... Had career highs with four punt returns for 50 yards against Rutgers ... Returned one punt for a career-long 27 yards against Miami.
