May 11, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL) News Release


LAFAYETTE, LA--The National Indoor Football League is pleased to announce the top players from Week 9 action, as follows:

Atlantic Conference

Ramon Robinson, Quarterback - Evansville BlueCats

Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week

BlueCats QB Ramon Robinson helped lead his team to a 88-84 win over the Show Me Believers on Saturday. In an offensive explosion, Robinson completed 28-of-36 passes for 399 yards and seven touchdowns. He also ran the ball on two attempts for five yards.

Alan Ganaway, Defensive Back - Fort Wayne Freedom

Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week

Freedom defensive back Alan Ganaway put the stops on the powerhouse Ohio Valley Greyhounds this past Saturday, as Fort Wayne ended the 'Hounds 26-game winning streak. Ganaway was responsible for 7.5 total tackles, one forced fumble, two interceptions, and three passes defended as the Freedom went on to win 43-35.

Dougie Allen, Wide Receiver / Kick Returner - Lexington Horsemen

Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week

Lexington, Kentucky native Dougie Allen played a key role in the Horsemen's 71-34 win over the Wichita Falls Thunder on Friday night. Allen's kickoff returns gave the Horsemen prime field position all night long, as he returned seven kickoffs for 185 total yards, including one for a touchdown.

Justin Bivins, Running Back - Sioux Falls Storm

Pacific Conference Offensive Player of the Week

Storm RB Justin Bivins helped lead the ground attack as Sioux Falls went on to defeat the Wyoming Cavalry 57-54 this past weekend. Bivins ran the ball on 20 attempts for 99 yards and three touchdowns. He also hauled in four receptions for 34 yards and another score.

Jaquwan Brackenridge, Defensive Back - Billings Outlaws

Pacific Conference Defensive Player of the Week

The Outlaws continue to roll through opponents with the help of key players like defensive back Jaquwan Brackenridge. Brackenridge was responsible for 10 total tackles, including one tackle for a loss, as the Billings Outlaws went on to defeat the Lincoln Capitols 50-41 on the road.

Pete Garces, Kicker - Utah Warriors

Pacific Conference Player of the Week

Pete Garces continues to kick and kick well for the Warriors. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Garces was perfect on point-after attempts, going 9-for-9 on the night, as well as racking up one solo tackle in the 77-74 Utah win over Lake Charles.
