Fresno Falcons News Release

FRESNO, Calif. —Clear some space in the rafters at Selland Arena because #27 is on its way! After spending the last seven seasons patrolling the ice for the Fresno Falcons, Greg Spenrath's #27 jersey will be retired on Saturday night as part of the Greg Spenrath Retirement Weekend. Spenrath played for the Falcons from 1995-2002 and is currently serving as an Assistant Coach for the defending Taylor Cup champions.

On Friday night at 7:30 p.m., the Falcons will face their Highway 99 rival Bakersfield Condors, and the first 2,000 fans through the doors will receive a Greg Spenrath t-shirt courtesy of Alpha Designs. On Saturday night, Spenrath's jersey will be raised to the rafters, which will precede the 7:30 p.m. match-up against the Condors. The pre-game ceremony will feature a tribute to Spenrath by Falcons President John Tull, as well as a short speech from Spenrath himself. Former Falcons players and staff will be in attendance to honor the Falcons' long-time enforcer. The first 2,000 fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a limited edition Greg Spenrath Bobblehead doll, presented by AT&T Wireless. Spenrath will be signing autographs at the CentralValley.com autograph booth immediately following Saturday's game, and fans can download a photo of Spenrath at www.centralvalley.com.

A Greg Spenrath game jersey and a pair of tickets to the Neil Diamond concert will be raffled off this weekend, with the proceeds going to benefit Kayli Jankowski. Jankowski is a 3-year old girl from Fresno who was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia last year. The money raised through the sale of the raffle tickets will assist her family with paying her medical expenses. The $1 raffle tickets will be sold throughout both Friday and Saturday night's games, and the winner will be drawn during the third period of Saturday's game.

For more information on the retirement ceremony and jersey raffle, please call the Falcons office at 485-PUCK. Individual tickets are still available for all games at the Selland Arena box office or at any Ticketmaster location.
