Sullivan Loaned To Saint John, Chiefs Sign Goaltender Scally

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today that defenseman Jeff Sullivan has been loaned to the Saint John Flames (AHL), and that they have signed goaltender Marc Scally.

Sullivan, 24, has two assists in 8 games for the Chiefs this season. This is his second call-up to the Flames this season where he saw action in one game. Over the last three seasons Sullivan has seen action in 54 games for Saint John, posting 1 goal, 4 assists, and 116 PIM.

Scally, 25, is no stranger to the Chiefs. He has served as an emergency backup for them twice over the last three seasons, and also was a member of the Wheeling Nailers during the 2000-01 season. The Penn State graduate played 15 games in the United Hockey League last season with the now defunct Ashville Smoke. In 15 games with the Smoke, the 5'10, 170 LBS native of Moon Twp., PA was 5-6-2 with a 3.91 GAA, and 0.908 save percentage.

Scally was under contract with the Wilkes/Barre Scranton Penguins during the 2000-01 season where he was eventually assigned to the Nailers. In 17 games with the Nailers he was 3-11-0 with a 5.16 GAA and a 0.859 save percentage. Scally attended the Nailers training camp this season.

The Chiefs will play two home games this weekend beginning tomorrow night when they take on the Wheeling Nailers. Saturday night the Chiefs will take on their in state rival Reading Royals.
