GREENVILLE, S.C. - The score was knotted up at 1-1 through the first seven innings of play at Fluor Field Thursday night, but the Winston-Salem Dash struck for three runs over the final two innings to claim a 4-1 victory over the Greenville Drive. After three games in the series, the Drive are down 2-1 to the Dash.
Michael Gettys (0-1) suffered the loss for Greenville after pitching 1.2 innings and allowing one run on two hits and a walk. He fanned three batters.

The Drive were held to just four hits on the night. Nicholas Northcut knocked Greenville's only extra base hit with a double in the game. Matthew Lugo recorded the Drive's lone RBI on the night with a groundout in the first.
It did not take Greenville long to jump ahead, scoring the ballgame's first run in the bottom of the first. Nick Yorke started the inning off with an infield single and advanced to second by way of an errant throw by the pitcher on the play. A balk moved him over to third, where he would score on a groundout from Matthew Lugo for the early 1-0 advantage.
Winston-Salem got on the board in the top of the third to pull level. A throwing error by the Drive catcher on a steal of third allowed the runner to race home for the tying run, making the score 1-1.
After over four innings of no scoring, the Dash ended the scoreless run to pull ahead. A home run onto the Green Monster gave Winston-Salem its first lead of the night, 2-1.
The Dash claimed some insurance runs in the top of the ninth. A two-run double extended their lead to 4-1 entering the Drive's last chance in the bottom of the ninth.
Greenville is back in action tomorrow night for game four of the series against Winston-Salem. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m with the Drive aiming to even the series.
