Greensboro Suffers Home Defeat to Raptors

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, fell to Raptors 905 (Toronto Raptors affiliate), 116-103, on Wednesday at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. With the victory, 905 (14-18) takes the season series, 2-1, over the Swarm (7-25).

Caleb Martin, on assignment from the Charlotte Hornets, continued his successful season by notching a career-high 31 points in 44 minutes of play - his fifth game of the season with at least 30 points. Martin shot an efficient 11-for-16 from the field including six 3-pointers.

The Raptors locked in on defense early with three steals in the first quarter. Taking a four-point lead into the second frame (30-26), 905 extended their lead to ten before the Swarm fought back to close the gap. After falling behind, 39-49, Greensboro rallied via a 16-2 run to recapture the lead. Martin had 14 of his 31 points in the first half, helping the Swarm hold a six-point lead at halftime (59-53).

The Raptors responded to the halftime deficit with a, 13-2, run of their own to open up the third quarter. 905 controlled the third frame, outscoring the Swarm, 37-22, to extend their lead to nine. Despite multiple comeback attempts by the Swarm, 905's defense in the second half sealed the win. Greensboro was held to 22 points in each of the final two quarters to give the Raptors a 13-point victory.

For the Swarm, Jalen McDaniels had a well-rounded game with 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Thomas Welsh recorded his 11th double-double of the season, tallying 13 points and 12 rebounds. Joel Berry led the Swarm reserves with 13 points and six rebounds.

Devin Robinson led the way for the Raptors with a team-high 30 points to go with 16 rebounds, while recently acquired Henry Ellenson added 29 points and 14 rebounds. Fellow starters Tyler Ennis (17 points), Matt Morgan (15 points) and Michael Bethea Jr. (9 points) all contributed as those five accounted for 100 of the team's 116 points on the night.

Greensboro returns to action Friday night at the Fieldhouse as the Swarm host the Grand Rapids Drive at 7 p.m.
