GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Drive (17-14) and Go-Go (15-17) battled head-to-head Wednesday at the DeltaPlex, but the visiting team prevailed and secured a win with a final score of 119-114. The momentum switched between teams the entire night resulting in 9 lead changes and the game being tied 11 times. The Drive went into the second half with a lead of 62-59, but couldn't maintain a consistent rhythm on offense while costly turnovers stifled their comeback efforts late into the fourth quarter.

Jalen Jones was the Go-Go's top performer tonight with a total of 28 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Notre Dame product Jerian Grant secured a solid double-double with 21 points and 12 assists to go along with a team-high 5 steals. Wizards two-way players Johnathan Williams (18 points & 8 rebounds) and Garrison Matthews (15 points & 4 rebounds) both added solid contributions to the team's win. Other Go-Go players in double figures were London Perrantes (12 points & 8 assists) and Jalen Hudson (11 points & 4 rebounds).

The Drive were led by guard Craig Sword who finished the night with a team-high 16 points to go with 3 rebounds, 3 assists. Big man Adam Woodbury earned a solid double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Tra-Deon Hollins matched Woodbury's 15 points with 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Donta Hall added another double-double to the board with 14 points and 11 rebounds to go along with 2 steals. Todd Withers contributed 13 points and 4 rebounds and Khalil Iverson contributed 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. Tre'Shawn Thurman was just shy of a double-double, earning 9 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Both Pistons two-way players were up with Detroit and did not suit up for the Drive tonight.

Overall, the Drive dominated the glass by out-rebounding the Go-Go 57-36, but the home team's 25 turnovers handed the visitors an additional 28 points off those extra possessions. The Drive's well-known defense and fluid offense helped them chip away at Capital City's 13-point lead in the fourth, but fell short a mere five points with five seconds to go. Ultimately, Capital City was able to connect their shots in the last quarter, shooting 55% (11-20) from the field and 50% (5-10) from beyond the arc compared to 36% (8-22) from the field and 40% (4-10) from three for the Drive.

The Drive will hit the road for back to back games, with the first stop being against the Greensboro Swarm this Friday night. Capital City will head back home and host the Erie BayHawks on Saturday night. Tip-off for both games is 7 p.m.
