
Greensboro Drops Home Game to Capital City

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, dropped the second game of a home-home, back-to-back against the Capital City Go-Go (Washington Wizards affiliate), 121-117, on Saturday after an exciting fourth quarter at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. The Swarm fall to 8-29 on the season while the Go-Go improve to 20-17.
Dwayne Bacon, on assignment from the Charlotte Hornets, had his third straight game with at least 40 points. He finished with 40 points on 15-of-29 shooting to go with 12 rebounds in 42 minutes. Two-way player Kobi Simmons also had a double-double as he posted 30 points and 10 assists in 42 minutes. After missing the game Friday, Ray Spalding scored 13 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Go-Go jumped out to a quick 10-2 run and held a strong lead going into the second quarter (28-20). Bacon had 17 points in the second quarter, but the Go-Go would extend their lead to 15 going into half (66-51).
The Swarm responded in the third quarter, outscoring the Go-Go, 37-25. The Swarm would eventually rally from its 17-point deficit to tie the game late in the fourth, 112-112. However, Jerian Grant hit a 3-pointer to give the Go-Go the lead, and Capital City sealed the win by making their free throws down the stretch.
For Capital City, Admiral Schofield led the way with 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting. In addition to Schofield, the GoGo had six players score in double digits including Grant (18 points), Garrison Mathews (21), Phil Booth (17), Mike Cobbins (16) and Johnathan Williams (10).
Greensboro next travels to Long Island on Monday to take on the Nets at 7:00 p.m. ET at the NYCB LIVE Nassau Coliseum.
