GreenJackets Win Walk-Off Thriller

Augusta, GA - The GreenJackets (17-21) squared off against the Asheville Tourists (18-18) Tuesday night for game 2 of their series against the Asheville Tourists.

The Tourists got off to a 2-0 first inning lead, however starter Phil Bickford settled in there after. Bickford threw 5.1 innings, striking out four. The GreenJackets put up four in the 6th inning when Jean Angomas cleared the bases with a 3-run triple. Seth Harrison then knocked in Angomas with a single up the middle.

The Tourists tied the score at four in the 8th inning when Sam Hilliard knocked in two with a single to right field. GreenJackets reliever Jake McCasland pitched 2.2 innings. In the 9th inning Dylan Davis singled and Matt Winn moved Davis over with a sac bunt. Manuel Geraldo replaced Davis on the base paths and came around to score the game winner when Kevin Beltre singled up the middle.

Caleb Smith pitched a perfect ninth inning, picking up his first win of the season.

The GreenJackets return back to action Wednesday night for the series finale, and last game of the homestand, against the Asheville Tourists. First pitch is 7:05pm and gates will open to fans starting at 6:00pm. It's Silver Jackets Night, as well as Baseball Bingo.

The projected pitching matchup is Jack Wynkoop (4-1, 3.71 ERA) versus Logan Webb (1-2, 5.96 ERA).
