PREVIEW: The Delmarva Shorebirds continue a three game series with the West Virginia Power tonight. West Virginia is the Class A Affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Shorebirds fell to 3-2 on the homestand after dropping yesterday's series opener, 6-3.. The Shorebirds began the season 4-6, but have a 16-10 record since then. West Virginia has struggled lately. After opening the season 14-3, the Power have gone 5-14 since April 26th and they were just swept over the weekend by the Lakewood BlueClaws. Despite their recent struggles, the Power sport the league's best pitching staff with a 3.03 team ERA.

TODAY'S OPPONENT: Right-hander J.T. Brubaker gets the start tonight for the West Virginia Power. Brubaker has had a nice season and is fourth in the league with 43 strikeouts, but he's also been prone to giving up the long ball. His seven homers allowed is tied for the most in the SAL. Brubaker was taken in the 6th round of the 2015 MLB First Year Player Draft after spending his college career at the University of Akron. He came right to WV last year after the draft, so he is back for his first full season in the SAL.

LAST GAME QUICK HITS: Delmarva is coming off of it's most gut-wrenching loss of the season. Reid Love pitched six outstanding innings and the Shorebirds had a 3-0 lead. Delmarva couldn't add to the lead with the bases loaded and nobody out in the home half of the sixth, and the game spun out of control. In the top of the seventh, the Power loaded the bags with no outs and Ryan Nagle drove a double into the right-center field gap. He scored two batters later and the Power took the lead. They added a HR in the eighth and another run in the ninth to win 6-3.
