GreenJackets to host anger management night

Augusta, GA - The GreenJackets shut down the Power again as they beat West Virginia 4-2 at Lake Olmstead Stadium Wednesday night. The Jackets handed the Power their third loss of the series. The last time the Power lost three games in a row was the first week of the season.

Wednesday night's game started slow as it stayed scoreless until the sixth inning. The Power put the first run on the board when Mat Gamel came home on a Michael Bell double to shallow left field. The Power scored the next run in the eighth inning as Mat Gamel singled through the hole at second base to bring in Darren Ford.

The GreenJackets finally got the bats swinging as they rallied four runs in the eighth inning. Antoan Richardson started the inning off with a bunt single. Richardson later scored on a David Maroul double to left field. Ben Copeland was the next to come home as he scored on an Anthony Contreras sacrifice fly to left field. Maroul came around on a Michael Mooney single to shallow left field. The final run of the night was scored when Jose Yens singled to deep second base to score Mooney.

Jackets' Sergio Romo picked up his sixth win of the season while Wayne Foltin received his 12th save. The Power's Kevin Roberts got the loss for West Virginia, dropping his record to 4-8.

The GreenJackets and Power will wrap up the series Thursday Night at Lake Olmstead Stadium at 7:05 pm. Thursday is another exciting Thirsty Thursday at Lake Olmstead.
