Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets may not always play like big leaguers, but for one night, they'll dress like big leaguers. When the GreenJackets return home to open a four-game homestand on Friday night against the Rome Braves, they'll be donning the uniforms of their parent club - the San Francisco Giants.
"Major League Night" is just one highlight of an action-packed homestand at Lake Olmstead Stadium as the GreenJackets return on Friday from a four-game road trip. In addition, the GreenJackets will be teaming with Knology to help underprivileged children in the CSRA get ready for the upcoming school year. Fans that bring new and unwrapped school supplies to the ballpark for any of the four games of this homestand will receive a FREE ticket to that night's game courtesy of Knology and the GreenJackets.
Here's a full rundown of everything happening at the ballpark during the upcoming homestand:
- Friday August 5th vs. Braves (7:05 p.m.) "Major League Night" - Join us as the GreenJackets host the Braves on Major League Night as both teams will be wearing the uniforms of their parent club. The GreenJackets, for one night only, will wear the uniforms of the 2010 World Champion San Francisco Giants. As fans enter the ballpark, they'll receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win one of seven different four-packs of tickets to the see Giants take on the Atlanta Braves next week at Turner Field!
- Saturday August 6th vs. Braves (7:05 p.m.) "Faith and Family Night" - The GreenJackets celebrate their annual Faith and Family Night on Saturday, presented by Whole Life Ministries. Join us for a night of wholesome family fun as the GreenJackets continue their series with the Braves. Also, it's another Sparkling Saturday with postgame fireworks presented by MCG Health and Kicks 99.
- Sunday August 7th vs. Braves (5:35 p.m.) "Kids Eat Free Sunday" - The GreenJackets will be taking care of the kids as any fan that purchases a ticket at the box office on Sunday will be given a voucher that entitles their child to a free meal, courtesy of the Augusta Chronicle. In addition, kids will be able to run the bases after the ballgame.
- Monday August 8th vs. Braves (7:05 p.m.) "$1 Hot Dog Monday" - The homestand finale goes to the dogs as fans can enjoy one-dollar hot dogs all night long at ballpark concession stands courtesy of SRP Federal Credit Union.
The GreenJackets wrap up their regular season series with the Savannah Sand Gnats tonight with first pitch at 7:05 p.m. in Savannah.
