October 27, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - G Scott Greenham made 43 saves and was a perfect 5-for-5 in the shootout to lead the Bakersfield Condors (3-3-0-0, 6pts) to a 2-1 victory over the Las Vegas Wranglers (2-1-0-1, 5pts) at Rabobank Arena Friday night.
Las Vegas came out of the gates quick, earning a power play in the opening minute and pelting Greenham with 17 opening period shots. But both Greenham and Wranglers G Joe Fallon were equal to the task in a scoreless first period.
In the second, the Condors grabbed the game's first goal at 16:36 when RW Tyler Brenner's shot was deflected into the back of the net past Fallon by his own defenseman. F Brett Perlini and D Tyson Gimblett picked up assists on Brenner's first tally as a Condor. The Wranglers held the shot advantage, 10-8, but Brenner's goal was the only one of the period.
The Condors couldn't hold Vegas off the board in the third. A power play goal by Wranglers D Charlie Cook tied it up at 10:53. Greenham held down the fort, though, battling through a 12-4 Las Vegas shot advantage to keep it 1-1.
In overtime, Greenham turned aside five Vegas shots, and he stopped all five in the shootout, while Condors F Peter Boyd lit the lamp to secure the Condors second-straight win.
