
'Blades Rally Again, But Fall Short to Greenville 3-2

ESTERO, Fla. - Sean Berkstresser scored early in the third period to give the Greenville Road Warriors a 3-2 victory over the Florida Everblades at Germain Arena on Saturday night.
The Road Warriors scored the first goal of the game just four minutes into the first period. Francis Verreault picked up a rebound and brought the puck back into the left circle. Verreault quickly turned and fired the puck past Everblades Goaltender John Muse.
Greenville extended its lead taking advantage of a 2-on-1 rush. Matt Schepke fed a pass to forward Shayne Wiebe in front who redirected the puck through the five-hole of Muse for the goal. . The Road Warriors took a 2-0 lead into the first break.
The 'Blades got on the board at 10:36 of the second period. Alex Hutchings fired a shot on goal, and the rebound bounced right to Corey Trivino. Trivino gathered the loose puck and slid it past Warriors goaltender Scott Stajcer.
Five minutes later, Florida went on the power play and converted. Charles Landry fed a pass to a waiting Justin Shugg at the top of the left circle. Shugg fired a slap shot and scored a goal for the 'Blades tying the score at two.
The third period went in favor of the Greenville Road Warriors, as Francis Verreault got a hold of the puck behind the 'Blades net and fed a pass to Warriors Forward Sean Berkstresser. Berkstresser took a shot from the left circle and fired a shot over Muse's left shoulder to raise the score to 3-2.
Stajcer turned aside all Everblades shots the rest of the way our secure the 3-2 win for the Warriors. With their goals in the contest both Justin Shugg and Corey Trivino have extender their goal scoring streaks to three games. Florida has also rallied from a two-goal deficit in three straight games.
Florida will now travel to Greenville to play the first of two games at the Bi-Lo Center beginning on Friday November 3 at 7:00 p.m. Fans can tune in at 96 K-Rock (96.1 FM) or online at www.floridaeverblades.com
The Everblades will return home to battle the Elmira Jackals on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:30pm at Germain Arena. Wednesday is also college night, ladies get in free and men get a $5 ticket with a valid college I.D. Fans can enjoy $2 drafts, wines and hot dogs all night long.
