Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Quakes blasted the Visalia Rawhide on Tuesday night at LoanMart Field, opening up their final home stand of the year with a convincing 11-0 win.
Rancho clubbed three home runs, including their second grand slam of the year, and had a total of five run-scoring hits with two outs. All 11 runs scored on Tuesday, came with two outs in the inning.
Thayron Liranzo belted his league-leading 23rd, Joe Vetrano (2) smashed a two-run homer that went 455 feet and Jake Gelof (2) ripped a grand slam and finished with a career-high five RBIs.
Christian Romero (8-2) was brilliant over five scoreless innings, finishing with just two hits allowed and six strikeouts, helping Rancho earn their seventh shutout of the year.
Visalia starter Jacob Steinmetz (1-10) got knocked around for six runs (five earned) over 4.2 innings in the loss.
The Quakes (28-33, 67-60) will send Chris Campos (5-6) to the mound on Wednesday, as he'll take on Visalia's Casey Anderson (1-1) at 6:30pm.
