Grand Rapids Advances to Five-Game Winning Streak

PORTLAND, ME - The Grand Rapids Gold (8-4) defeated the Maine Celtics (5-6) after an intense, physical game that led to a fairly balanced stat sheet, but ultimately came down to the Gold's ability to progressively convert their shots throughout the game. Grand Rapids trailed by as much as 12 in the first half, shooting only 29.2% (7-24) in the first quarter, but quickly changed the momentum in the second quarter to convert 68.4% (13-19) of their shots, leading to 47-47 halftime score. The Gold also hustled up a huge third quarter performance, outscoring the Celtics 32-15 and maintained that energy to dictate the pace of the game. This marks Grand Rapids' fifth win in a row, 4-4 on the road.

Sharpshooter Matt Ryan pulled out a huge performance tonight, earning 25 points and 2 assists while shooting 6-8 from beyond the arc and 7-10 from the field. Nik Stauskas followed up with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Guard Trevon Duval hustled up another 15 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Kenneth Faried also put up 15 points, in addition to 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Quade Green managed to dish out 14 assists, 10 in the first half alone,

to go along with 7 points and 5 rebounds. Manny Camper tallied up another 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks to Grand Rapids' stat line. Marcus Burk contributed 11 points and 2 rebounds.

Maine was led by Boston Celtics two-way player Brodric Thomas with a game-high 26 points and 3 rebounds. Jaysean Page added 24 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals to the mix. Other players in double figures were Chris Clemons (18 pts, 6 assists, 3 stls, 2 rebs,) and Celtics two-way player Sam Hauser (13 pts, 6 rebs).
