Grand Junction Jackalopes News Release
Behind Zach Hall's 3-run homer, the Grand Junction Rockies won their fourth straight game, beating the Great Falls Voyagers 4-3 Saturday night at Suplizio Field.
With the Rockies down 2-1, Hall followed singles from Jeff Moberg and Franklin Garcia and went deep over the right field wall for his fourth home run of the season, as the Rockies eclipsed the .500 for the first time since June 21.
Steele Walker and Logan Sowers hit back-to-back home runs off Alejandro Mejia in the first inning to give the Voyagers a 2-0 lead, but Daniel Montano's second inning homer down the left field line cut the Voyagers lead in half. Mejia didn't give up another run and after he left the game in the sixth with the Rockies leading, Trent Fennell tossed two scoreless innings.
Great Falls scored an unearned run in the eighth to get within one, but Aneudy Duarte faced the minimum in the ninth for his first save of the season.
The win improves the Rockies to 18-17 on the season as they won at home for the sixth straight game.
Will Golsan had two hits and a stolen base.
The Rockies will look to guarantee themselves no worse than a .500 record in the first half when they take on the Voyagers Sunday afternoon at 5:00.
