
Governor, Military Officials to Honor Injured Veterans

BOISE, Idaho, March 7, 2011 - Idaho Governor Butch Otter, First Lady Lori Otter, Major General Gary Sayler and Brigadier General Bill Shawver from the Idaho Militia Headquarters will be featured guests at Saturday's Idaho Stampede game versus the Bakersfield Jam. The game will begin at 7 p.m.
The Idaho Stampede Community Foundation raised funds that were used to purchase specialized wheelchairs for sporting activities - the 11 chairs will be unveiled at Saturday's game. The sport wheelchairs will be utilized by the Idaho Warriors for wheelchair basketball and other team sports; the Idaho Warriors is a non-profit organization that was created by disabled veterans of military conflicts.
War veterans, and their families, will attend Saturday's game, along with senior executives from Norco Medical, which has sponsored this program.
Each of the 11 individual wheelchair sponsors will be in attendance: US Bank, Idaho Power, Best Bath Systems, Bolton Family & Friends, Idaho Stampede Fans, Michael Family Foundation, J.A. & Kathryn Albertson Foundation, Eloisa, Ryan and Rob Walker M.D., Office Max Boise Community Fund, Lynn & Jim Johnston M.D., and Grubb & Ellis/Title One.
