Dakota Wizards News Release
Bismarck, N.D. (March 7, 2011) - Renaldo Major scored a game high 28 points to go along with eight rebounds and six assists to lead the Dakota Wizards to a 114-94 victory over the Reno Bighorns Monday night at the Bismarck Civic Center. The victory snapped Reno's three-game road win streak.
Dakota (15-26) trailed 10-9 early in the first but would regain the lead for good on two Mike Anderson free throws with 7:39 left in the first quarter and would lead 28-22 at the end of one. Reno (25-15) cut the lead to one in the second on a jumper by Donald Sloan but that would be as close as they would get as Dakota would lead 59-56 at the half. Major scored 20 of his 28 points in the first half.
The Wizards used a big second half outscoring Reno 28-20 in the third and pulled away in the fourth by outscoring the Bighorns 27-18. Chris Ayer came off the bench for Dakota and scored all 14 of his points to help Dakota secure a 114-94 victory.
Mike Anderson also had a big night for Dakota scoring 22 points and Anthony Goods added 14 for the Wizards who snapped a two-game home losing streak.
The Bighorns were led by Danny Green who recorded his third straight double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Dakota travels to New Mexico this Friday and Saturday for back-to-back games against the Thunderbirds. Both games will be a 7:30 p.m. CT tip.
