Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
For just the third time this season, Winnipeg has added a new pitcher to its roster.
Manager Rick Forney announced today the signing of southpaw Ian Thomas. He will be in the line-up tonight when the league-leading Goldeyes tackle Gary in the middle game of a three-game set.
Thomas, 22, comes to Winnipeg following his senior year at NCAA Div. I Virginia Commonwealth. He went 4-4 in 11 starts for the Rams with a 4.27 earned average, good for sixth in the conference and a spot on the Colonial Athletic Association Third Team.
Following tonight's 6:00 start, the Goldeyes and RailCats wrap things up tomorrow afternoon at 1:30.
