Winnipeg's roster has a vacancy.
Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the release of left-handed pitcher Tim Layden. With that, there are now 21 have players on the roster, 10 of whom are pitchers.
Signed on June 10, Layden made four appearances for Winnipeg, posting an 0-0 record with an 11.57 earned run average. He walked two and struck out four in four-plus innings as opponents batted .423 against him.
