Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the signing of right-handed rookie pitcher Sean Gregory.
Gregory, 23, appeared in 29 games with the Quebec Les Capitales of the Can-Am League this season. He had a 4-2 record and 5.83 ERA in 41 and two-thirds innings. Gregory also complied four saves and 36 strikeouts.
In 2009, Gregory, who hails from West Islip, NY, sported a 2-1 record and 2.45 ERA in 19 games with Quebec. He had 22 strikeouts over 25 and two-thirds innings.
Gregory played his collegiate ball with the NCAA Division I University of Albany Great Danes. As their closer in 2009, he had six saves and a 6-2 record.
The addition of Gregory gives Winnipeg a Northern League maximum 23 players on its roster, including 12 pitchers and 11 position players.
