Goldeyes Acquire Howard from Amarillo

Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today that right-handed pitcher Cephas Howard has been acquired from the Amarillo Sox for cash considerations.

Howard, 29, went 1-1 with a 4.00 ERA in 11 outings for the Sox this season. He also made 16 appearances with the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League, going 4.60 ERA. A former draft pick of the Los Angeles Angels in 2007, Howard has previous experience in the American Association with the Wichita Wingnuts and Sioux City Explorers.

The Goldeyes now have 22 players on their active roster, including 12 pitchers and 10 position players.

Winnipeg continues an 11-game homestand this afternoon against the Gary SouthShore RailCats. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
