GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Asheville outfielder Casey Golden continued his impressive play while leading the visiting Tourists to a 12-1 win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Monday at First National Bank Field. The Siler City native belted his third home run in two days as the Tourists collected five bombs on the night.

Greensboro pitchers combined to strikeout 12 batters, including seven by starter Edward Cabrera (4-7) who took the loss. Tourists starter Frederis Parra (1-1) tossed 8.0 shutout innings, limiting the Hoppers to six hits and a walk while fanning two to earn the win.

Ramon Marcelino became the third Tourist in two days with a multi-homer game against the Hoppers, going 3-for-5 with two solo blasts (18). Brett Boswell, Todd Czinege, and Golden added the other blasts as Golen finished 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored.

With Asheville ahead 1-0 through two innings, the visitors broke the game open with a 5-run frame in the third, highlighted by Boswell's 3-run home run (17). In the sixth, Golden cleared the left-field berm with a 465-foot homer (22), a 3-run shot to boost the Tourists lead to 9-0. Czinege's 2-run shot (4) in the ninth contributed to another 3-run inning.

Greensboro (45-48, 11-13 Second Half) avoided a shutout in the bottom of the ninth. Will Allen led off the frame with his first triple of the season and scored one batter later on Marcos Rivera's RBI-groundout.

The Grasshoppers wrap up this home stand on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. in the series finale against the Tourists. Gates open at 11:00 a.m., and tickets are available online at gsohoppers.com.
