Goaltender Gherson Assigned From Chicago

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that goaltender Robert Gherson has been assigned to the team from the AHL's Chicago Wolves.

The fifth-year pro has spent the last two years with the Wolves, who won the AHL's Calder Cup Championship in 2007-08. This year, the 25-year-old held a record of 5-3 with Chicago; had a save percentage of .893 and a 3.09 goals-against-average. In 2007-2008, the Toronto native went 8-6 with a .914 save percentage and a 2.61 goals-against-average.

Gherson joins Mike Mole as the Grizzlies new goaltending tandem. Mole has started 26-straight games for Utah dating back to October 25 and has logged a .905 save percentage and a goals-against-average of 3.18.

Former Grizzlies Head Coach Jason Christie is an Assistant Coach in Chicago.

The Grizzlies return to action Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas. Face-off at the Orleans Arena is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. both nights.

Utah returns home to open a four-game in five-night home stand Tuesday, January 6 when they will host the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m.
