
Cincinnati Cyclones Acquire Mike Salekin

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones, announced today that they have acquired defenseman Mike Salekin from the Stokcton Thunder (ECHL) The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
Salekin, 23, was acquired from the Stockton Thunder (ECHL) for future considerations. A second-year pro from Castegar, British Columbia, Mike previously had played in the North Division for Reading. Last season with Reading, Salekin produced 13 points on four goals and nine assists with 183 penalty minutes in 49 games. His 2008-09 campaign consists of ten games with Reading (2-4-6) and a dozen with Stockton (two goals).
The six-foot, 208 pounder played collegiately at the University of Alabama-Hunstville, racking up 17 goals and 32 assists for 49 points and 205 penalty minutes in 99 games during his three seasons at the college.
Salekin will arrive in Cincinnati next week.

The Cyclones host the Wheeling Nailers on Tuesday, January 6 at 7:30pm. The Trenton Devils are in on January 9 and 10 for 7:30pm clashes both nights.
