GM/Head Coach Kevin Guy Signs Contract for 2012

MESA, Ariz. - GM/HEAD COACH KEVIN GUY has re-signed his coaching contract with the Arizona Rattlers for the 2012 season.

"I am very pleased to continue coaching with this organization," said Guy. "We are trying to build something special here for the fans and players. I am a strong believer in the tone, direction and vision that MAJORITY OWNER/CEO RON SHURTS has for this organization moving forward."

Guy begins his 12th season coaching in Arena Football, his eighth as a GM/Head Coach and his fourth in that position with the Arizona Rattlers. In his eight years of head coaching experience, Guy holds a 73% winning percentage (83-31).

In 2011, Guy led the Rattlers to an Arena Football League record of 18 wins, guiding the squad to a West Division Championship, National Conference Championship and an ArenaBowl XXIV appearance. Guy garnered the 2011 NFL Network Coach of the Year award in due part to his guidance of the record breaking squad.

With Guy's leadership, eight Rattlers players received All-League honors this season with QB NICK DAVILA garnering the National Guard MVP of the league award.

The Rattlers' 2011 offense averaged 61.9 ppg and punched 160 scores into the endzone during the regular season, both served as league second bests. The defense held opponents to 46.4 ppg and forced 54 turnovers, helping the Rattlers hold a league best +34 turnover ratio.
