
Glover, Hitmen Slip Past Rebels

Red Deer, AB - Brandon Glover made 33 saves as the Calgary Hitmen beat the Red Deer Rebels 3-2 Tuesday night at Enmax Centrium.
Jimmy Bubnick in the first period, Brady Brassart in the second and Chase Clayton in the third all scored for Calgary who built period leads of 1-0 and 2-1.
Tyson Ness and Matthew Dumba replied for the Rebels.
Calgary outshot Red Deer 43-35.
The win is Calgary's 40th of the season improving their record to 40-24-2-1.
At 83 points and with five games remaining in the regular season, Calgary moves five points ahead of Kootenay in the battle for fourth place in the Eastern Conference and home ice advantage in the opening round of the WHL playoffs. The Hitmen also pull within two points of Medicine Hat for third place, however both the Tigers and Ice have a game in hand.
Calgary returns to action Friday night in Lethbridge for a date with the Hurricanes before returning home Sunday to host the Rebels in a rematch. Sunday's game is a 4:00 p.m. start at Scotiabank Saddledome.
