
Glasnow Lifts Power to Series Split, Even Record

(Lexington, KY- May 12, 2013)- The West Virginia Power beat the Lexington Legends 6-2 on Sunday afternoon at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Tyler Glasnow allowed one run on one hit and struck out nine over five innings of work to help West Virginia win the final game of the series and earn a split in Lexington.
The Power took an early lead off Legends starter Aroni Nina. Max Moroff walked to lead off the game, stole second, and moved to third on an error. Moroff scored on a fielder's choice for a 1-0 West Virginia lead. The Power added a run in the third on a bases loaded single by D. J. Crumlich.
The Legends scored their first run in the bottom of the third off Glasnow when Bubba Starling singled in Ethan Chapman.
West Virginia added runs in the fourth walk Junior Sosa scored on a balk and in the fifth on a run-scoring groundout by Stetson Allie for a 4-1 lead. Dilson Herrera's second home run of the series and third this season, a two-run home run in the top of the seventh, capped the West Virginia offense off to a 6-1 lead.
Lexington scored once in the bottom of the ninth to close the scoring.
Glasnow (3-0) won his third straight start and second of the week. The right-hander allowed two runs over the last week on three hits while striking out a total of 19 batters in wins over Greenville on Tuesday and the Legends on Sunday. Nina (0-2) took the loss after surrendering four runs, two of which were earned, on seven hits over five innings.
Herrera paced the Power offense with three hits while Bell and Crumlich added two hits apiece.
