Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators enter the week in sole possession of first place in the ECHL's Eastern Conference after posting a pair of win over Elmira and knocking off the Trenton Titans. Gwinnett sits two points ahead of the Greenville Road Warriors and Elmira Jackals in first place in the conference. The Gladiators have earned 56 points in 45 games this season and own a 23-12-7-3 record on the season.
Greenville Road Warriors Preview:
Gwinnett will host the Road Warriors for another pair of back to back games with first place in the South Division on the line. Gwinnett currently sits two points ahead of Greenville, but has played one more game that the Road Warriors this season. Except for a Gladiators 4-2 loss on October 22nd at home, the home team has won all the other games in this series Greenville is led in scoring by Justin Bowers who has 57 points (14 goals, 43 assists) on the season and lead the Road Warriors in scoring against Gwinnett with 12 points. Nikita Kashirsky has earned 10 points for Gwinnett against the Road Warriors this season.

Thursday, January 26: Gwinnett Gladiators 4, Elmira Jackals 3 - W
Justin Milo set a new season high with four assists for the Gwinnett Gladiators in a 4-3 victory over the Elmira Jackals on Thursday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Pat Galivan had the game-winner with the help of Dallas Jackson and Milo in the second period. Tyler Murovich collected three assists in the win.
Saturday, January 28: Gwinnett Gladiators 4, Elmira Jackals 1 - W
The Gwinnett Gladiators had a solid 4-1 victory over the Elmira Jackals on Saturday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Forward Brian Brutlag collected three assists in the win. Justin Milo notched a goal and an assist to continue a four-game point scoring streak for the Glads.
Sunday, January 29: Gwinnett Gladiators 4, Trenton Titans 1 - W
Gwinnett moved into sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference in the ECHL with a 4-1 win over the Trenton Titans on Sunday afternoon at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Pat Galivan notched a pair of goals for Gwinnett in the win while Nikita Kashirsky had two assists to extend his point-scoring streak to eight straight games. Gwinnett got 34 saves from Joe Palmer who made his first start since he was acquired from Reading on January 26th.
News & Notes:
Another to 50: Gladiators forward Pat Galivan notched a pair of goals for the Gladiators in a 4-1 win over the Trenton Titans on Sunday, January 29th. For Galivan, it was his 17th and 18th goals of the season. His 18th goal of the season was also his 50th career goal in a Gladiators uniform becoming the 8th Gladiator in team history to reach the 50 goal plateau with the team. Andy Brandt accomplished the feat earlier this season.
A Streaker! Forward Nikita Kashirsky collected a pair of assists for the Gladiators in a 4-1 win over Trenton on January 29th. With the assists, Kashirsky extended his point scoring streak for the Gladiators to eigth games which ties a team season high for most consecutive games with a least one point. Kashirsky has recorded nine points (three goals, six assists) in his current streak. At eight consecutive games, Kashirsky matches Joey Haddad's eight game point streak from November 1st through November 18th. The longest point scoring streak this season in the ECHL is 15 games held by Eric Lampe of the Las Vegas Wranglers.
Home Sweet Home: The Gladiators continue to use home ice to their advantage this season. After Sunday's 4-1 win over Trenton on home ice, the Gladiators have now won eight straight on home ice at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The last loss for Gwinnett at home was a 3-1 defeat against Florida on December 30th. Gwinnett is now 15-5-0-2 on home ice this season. The eight game home winning streak is the longest home wining streak for Gwinnett since the 2005-06 season when Gwinnett won nine consecutive home games between January 14th and February 17th.
Back from the A: Forward Chris Clackson jumped right back into the Gladiators line up on Sunday after missing the previous four games due to call up to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. Arriving at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Sunday morning, Clackson had his 9th goal of the season for Gwinnett in the win Sunday afternoon. While on recall to Houston, Clackson posted one assist in four games with the Aeros. He also saw action on one game earlier this season with Rochester but did not register a point in his first AHL action the year.
A helping hand: Forward Justin Milo notched a team season high and a personal career best four assists in the Gladiators 4-3 win over the Elmira Jackals on January 26th. For Milo it was his 5th multiple point game of the season and he now has six multiple point games on the year.
