Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators returned a combined $5,757 to five separate local community organizations in two months through the Gladiators Peggy Slappey Properties FUNdraiser Program. The Gladiators Peggy Slappey Properties FUNdraising program allows local organizations and schools to raise money for their cause or group by attending a Gladiators game of their choice during the season.
"I can't say enough about the Gwinnett Gladiators and their support for our school," said Brenda Parris, Music Specialist at Sharon Elementary School. "Through the Peggy Slappey Properties FUNdraiser, our music department has continued to flourish through these difficult financial times. The Gladiators organization makes fundraising effortless and the rewards are amazing!"
The five organizations that have participated in the Gladiators Peggy Slappey Properties FUNdraiser program and directly received funds from the team just two months into the 2010-2011 season include Patrick Elementary School, Burnette Elementary School, Couch Middle School, Shiloh Point Elementary School and Sharon Elementary School.
"The Gwinnett Gladiators were very easy to work with," said Brittany Butts, Music Teacher at Burnette Elementary School. "They took care of all my last minute problems and ensured that the event went smoothly."
Last season, the Gladiators Peggy Slappey Properties FUNdraisers helped generate over $45,000 in charitable contributions for local organizations in North Georgia. Over 50 area church groups, local schools and PTAs as well as non profit groups took advantage of the program to raise money for their respective organizations.
It is easy for an organization to participate in the Gladiators FUNdraising Program. Organizations have the opportunity to sell a Gladiators day-of-game regularly priced $18 Premium Level Ticket for just $15 and the organizations will receive $5 from every ticket sold for their cause. Gladiators representatives are also available to assist and help the organizations with their efforts.
The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
