Elmira Jackals News Release

LEADING THE PACK

The Elmira Jackals are tied for first place in the Eastern Conference one month into the 2010-2011 season after winning both of their games last weekend.

Two comeback victories on Friday and Saturday gave the Jackals four points on the weekend. On Friday, the Jackals trailed 3-1 to the South Carolina Stingrays in the second period, but scored four-straight times on their way to a 5-1 win. Saturday's game also saw Elmira overcome a two-goal deficiten routeto a 5-4 victory over the Trenton Devils.

Elmira (19 points) leads the Atlantic Division by five points over the Reading Royals (14) and by 10 points over Trenton (10).

FAN SUPPORT STICKS OUT

The Jackals had a pair of sellouts this weekend, their second and third of the season, with a season-high crowd of 4,007 attending Friday's game and 3,995 fans watching Saturday's contest.

Elmira has lead the ECHL in sellouts in each of its first three seasons in the league. First Arena was sold out for 13 games last season, on five occasions in 2008-2009, and 14 times in 2007-2008. The Jackals now have 34 sellouts since joining the ECHL.

"Our fans were great last weekend and certainly helped the team battle back for the two victories," Jackals head coach Malcolm Cameron said. "The atmosphere at First Arena is as good as it gets in the ECHL and that is because we have such strong fan support"

COLLECTING POINTS ON THE ROAD

The Jackals are in Trenton on Saturday and in Reading on Sunday for a pair of Atlantic Division games. Elmira has taken a point in each of its five road games this season (4-0-1-0) which is even for the longest streak in the league to start the 2010-2011 season.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

Justin Donati (7g-14a-21) and Michael Dubuc (11g-9a-20) are first and second in the league in scoring. Donati's 14 assists are the most in the league while Dubuc's 11 goals also lead the ECHL.

Dubuc and Oren Eizenman have two of the four longest current scoring streaks in the ECHL.
