
Gladiators extend qualifying offers

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have extended qualifying offers to defensemen Joe Bourne, and Troy Milam; forwards Chris Durno, Steve Slonina and Mike Vigilante as well as to goaltender Adam Munro for the 2004-2005 season.
Bourne, a native out of Eden Prarie, Minnesota, played 68 games with the Gladiators last season, scoring 6 goals and 5 assists for a total of 11 points. The defenseman had 3 assists and 6 penalty minutes during the team's playoff run last year.
Milam, a 6-foot, 188-pound defenseman out of Lake Orion, Michigan, split the 2003-2004 season between the Gladiators and the American Hockey League with Manchester and San Antonio. In 60 regular season games played with the Gladiators, Milam recorded 6 goals and 27 assists. In the post season, Milam also chipped in 5 assists.
In 68 regular season games with the Gladitors, Durno scored 20 goals and 26 assists for 46 points. During the playoffs, the center contributed 7 goals and 5 assists and finished the post season with a +5 rating to lead Gwinnett in that category.
Slonina, a native of Abington, Massachusetts, played 69 games with the Gladiators last year. During the regular season, the forward tallied 20 goals and 17 assists for 37 points. During the playoffs, Slonina added 1 goal and 3 assists, finishing the post season run with a +5 rating.
Spending the majority of the 2003-2004 season with Portland of the AHL, Vigilante registered 8 goals and 11 assists in 66 games played with the Pirates, including the playoffs. While in 18 games with the Gladiators, the left wing out of Dearborn, Michigan contributed 4 goals and 14 assists and shared a team high 13-game point scoring streak before being called up to Portland.
Appearing in his first NHL game with the Chicago Blackhawks on February 29th vs. Nashville, Munro spent the majority of the season away from Gwinnett while on recall. The goaltender netted a 2.24 GAA and .902 save percentage in 12 AHL contests with the Norfolk Admirals. For Chicago, Munro produced 3.97 GAA and a .880 save percentage. In his 6 starts with the Gladiators before his recall, he posted a 2.76 GAA and a .894 save percentage and recorded the first win in Gladiators team history on October 18th with a 5-3 win in Charlotte.
Each team was entitled to reserve Rights to a maximum of eight (8) Qualified Players. Of these eight (8) Qualified Players, no more than four (4) of the Qualified Players shall be Veterans (288 regular season professional hockey games played as of the start of the upcoming 2004-05 season). Players will have until August 1 to accept a qualifying offer.
