Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ (July 1, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Ryan Crane and forward Chris Pittman for the 2004-05 season.
Crane, 24, came to the Titans from the Florence Pride on December 15, 2003 in exchange for financial considerations. The Mississauga, Ontario native tallied 4 goals and 21 assists over 43 games with Trenton.
"Ryan's a good offensive defenseman and he put up quailty numbers for the team last season," said Mike Haviland, Titans Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "We look for him to build on that and help anchor the defense corp."
Entering his third year as a professional, Crane had 24 points (8g, 16a) and 82 PIM in his rookie season with the August Lynx and was a four-year player at Western Michigan University.
Pittman, 27, was acquired on December 27, 2003 from the Columbia Inferno in an exchange for future considerations, later named as defenseman PJ Martin. The native of Stephenville, Newfoundland immediately stepped onto the Titans top line and contributed 16 goals and 26 assists in 46 games.
"This is a great signing that brings back another one of our core players," stated Haviland. "Pittman's a solid two-way player that has offensive firepower. We're going to count on him for big things this season."
A 10th round pick of the Quebec Nordiques in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, the fourth-year pro was also tied for third in the ECHL with 15 power play goals
