Gladiators Blanked, 1-0 by Generals
January 28, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators lost their second straight game without scoring a goal as Jamie Hodson turned aside all 56 Gladiators shots giving the Greensboro Generals a 1-0 win Wednesday night at the Greensboro Coliseum. With the loss, the Gladiators fall to 23-15-3 on the season. Joel Irwin scored what proved to be the game winner 2:07 into the third period as he redirected a centering pass over the leg of Gladiators netminder Trevor Prior. Derek Crimin and Matt Chandler added the assists on the goal.
Three power-play apiece couldn't break a scoreless tie during the first two periods. The Gladiators outshot the Generals 32-18 through two periods and Greensboro's Jamie Hodson and Gwinnett's Trevor Prior both made key saves for their respective teams to keep the game deadlocked with out a goal through the first two periods.
The Gladiators are back in action on Friday as they travel to Columbia to take on the Inferno in a 7:35 p.m. tilt at the Carolina Coliseum.
