BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads hockey club announced today it has acquired forwards David Bararuk and Brett Draney from its AHL affiliate Utah Grizzlies.

Draney was a Dallas Stars sixth round (186th overall) selection in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. In 30 games played with the Grizzlies this season, he scored one goal and one assist. The 22-year-old British Columbia native played two games with the Steelheads earlier this month (sent down 1/15 and recalled 1/21), notching two goals. Draney has prior ECHL experience as well, having played 50 games with the now defunct Lexington Men O'War last season, where he tallied 32 points (13 goals, 19 assists).

Bararuk was selected by the Dallas Stars as a fifth round (147th overall) pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. The Saskatchewan-born, 20-year-old, played four years for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL, before making his professional debut with the AHL Grizzlies this season. Bararuk scored 93 points (29 goals and 64 assists) in 66 games in his final season with the Warriors. In 42 games with Utah, he has scored 3 goals and 7 assists.

The Steelheads travel to San Diego for a game Friday night, then on to Long Beach to play the Ice Dogs Saturday. The team returns home for a three-game homestand against the Gulls on February 4th, 6th and 7th.
