Gladiators Add three from AHL

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have received three forwards from AHL rosters. Tim Miller has been assigned from AHL affiliate Syracuse, while Matt Siddall and Michael Forney were assigned from AHL affiliate Chicago.

Miller joins the Gladiators after signing an American Hockey League contract with the Crunch earlier this month. The Davisburg, Michigan native made his professional debut in April of last season with the Crunch after signing an amateur tryout following his senior season at the University of Michigan. He tallied a goal against Rochester in his only professional game. In his four collegiate seasons, Miller posted 77 points on 25 goals and 52 assists in 166 total games with Michigan. He was named the CCHA's best defensive forward in March after his final collegiate season.

Siddall, a ninth round draft pick by the Atlanta Thrashers in 2004, rejoins the Gladiators after appearing in 40 games with the team last season. Siddall skated four years at Northern Michigan University before making his pro debut with the AHL Chicago Wolves last season. While in Chicago, he appeared in 20 games, posting one assist and 19 penalty minutes, before joining the Gladiators. In four seasons at Northern Michigan, he compiled 76 points on 32 goals and 44 assists in 147 games.

Forney was selected in the third round with the 80th overall pick by the Atlanta in 2006. The 21 year old Thief River Falls, Minnesota native spent parts of two junior seasons in the USHL and parts of two collegiate seasons with the University of North Dakota. Forney skated in 16 games with the Fighting Sioux in 2006-07, chipping in two assists. He then appeared in three more games with UND in 2007-08, recording two penalty minutes. Forney returned to juniors last season, where he appeared in 59 games with Green Bay of the USHL. He finished with 60 points on 26 goals and 34 assists. He has not yet played in a professional game.

The Gladiators open their 7th season in the ECHL on Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th against the Wheeling Nailers. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
