
Gladiators Acquire the Rights to Defenseman Ben Marshall

DULUTH, Ga. - The Atlanta Gladiators announced Saturday that they have acquired the rights to defenseman Ben Marshall from the Indy Fuel in exchange for forward Patrick D'Amico and one future consideration to be named at a later date.
In his first year of professional hockey, Marshall, 24, collected 12 goals and 24 assists for 36 points last season while appearing in all of Indy's 72 games. The former 7th Round pick (201st overall) of the Detroit Red Wings in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft was selected to the 2015-2016 ECHL All-Rookie Team and finished third in scoring by a rookie defenseman in the league. The Mahtomedi, MN native also led all Fuel defenseman and was fourth overall in total points on the team. Prior to the start of his pro career, the 5-foot-9, 175-pound defender skated in 159 collegiate games with the University of Minnesota, accumulating 61 total points.
Marshall is currently at Providence Bruins training camp after signing a two-way contract with the P-Bruins earlier this summer.
