
Giants Prospect Jonathan Lekkerimaki Selected 15th Overall by the Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants are pleased to announce that 2004-born prospect forward Jonathan Lekkerimaki (Huddinge, SWE) has been selected 15th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the first-round of the 2022 NHL Draft.
JONATHAN LEKKERIMAKI'S ELITE PROSPECTS PROFILE
Lekkerimaki, 18, stands 5'11" and 172-pounds and was chosen by the Giants 70th overall in the 2022 CHL Import Draft. The right winger split last season between Djurgårdens IF (SHL) and Djurgårdens IF J20 (J20 Nationell). In 26 games with the senior team, he scored 7 goals and had 2 assists, and in 26 games with the junior team he finished with 20 goals and 15 assists.
Internationally Lekkerimaki most recently represented Sweden in the World Under-18's where he scored five goals and added ten assists for fifteen points in six games en route to a Gold Medal. Since 2019-20 he's appeared in 24 games internationally for Sweden.

Round 1 of the 2022 NHL Draft continues this evening. Rounds 2-7 take place tomorrow beginning at 8:00 AM PT.
