Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants will have two familiar faces back in the lineup this weekend.

The Calgary Flames announced on Tuesday that forward Jaden Lipinski has been assigned to the Vancouver Giants .

The news comes one day after defenceman Mazden Leslie returned to the Ladner Leisure Centre following Toronto Maple Leafs training camp.

Lipinski, 18, was selected by the Flames in the fourth round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, 112th overall, and played in the Young Stars Tournament for Calgary from Sept. 14-18, where he scored a goal in three games. He also made his NHL preseason debut last night, suiting up in Calgary when the Flames hosted the Kraken in a split-squad contest.

Last season, the Scottsdale, AZ product registered 51 points (19G-32A), which ranked third on the Giants.

Leslie, 18, was a free agent invite by the Maple Leafs for the Traverse City Prospects Tournament in Michigan, which ran from Sept. 14-18. Leslie then got an extended look with the NHL club when they named him to their Training Camp roster on Sept. 20.

Last season, the Lloydminster, Alta. product led all Giants defencemen with 50 points, which ranked second amongst all U-18 defencemen in the Western Hockey League.

Both players are expected to be in the Giants lineup this weekend for games against Kamloops (Friday, Sept. 29) and Wenatchee (Sunday, Oct. 1).
