Giants Forwards Named To Hockey Canada Camp

The Vancouver Giants congratulate forwards EVANDER KANE and JAMES HENRY on being invited to Hockey Canada's 2008 National Men's Summer Under-18 Team Selection Camp. The two are among 40 players from across Canada who will take part in the selection camp August 1-5 in Calgary, Alberta.

Kane is coming off his first season with the Giants in the Western Hockey League. In 65 games, the Vancouver native collected 24 goals and added 17 assists. Named the WHL's Western Conference nominee for WHL Rookie of the Year, Kane was the Giants first pick in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft (19th overall).

Henry is also coming off his rookie season with the Giants. Last season, Henry appeared in 46 games, scoring seven goals and adding eight assists. The Winnipeg, MB resident was the Giants 9th round pick in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft (187th overall).

"Evander and James had very strong rookie seasons with our club last season," says Giants General Manager Scott Bonner. "Both have certainly deserved a chance at representing their country on the international stage and we wish them the best of luck in making Team Canada."
