Georgia State's Brown, allocated to the WBA's Southern Crescent Lightning

Atlanta, GA - The World Basketball Association (WBA) and Commissioner Mike Glenn announce Marcus Brown, 6-7 Small Forward from Georgia State University, has been allocated to the Southern Crescent Lightning. GSU's leading scorer this year, Brown averaged 15 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals and shot a very respectable 46.7% from beyond the 3-point line. In his Senior season, Marcus led the Michael Perry coached Panthers in minutes played with 34.1, while logging big minutes against tough non-conference road opponents such as Kentucky, Charlotte and Nevada. Against Kentucky, Brown led GSU with 16 points. As a Junior, Brown averaged 7.4 points and 2.9 rebounds for the Panthers. While at Georgia Perimeter, prior to coming to GSU, Brown scored 14.5 points and pulled 5.9 rebounds per game in the JUCO ranks. He was also named South Fulton Player of the Year as a high school senior at Atlanta's Banneker High School, while scoring at a clip of 21 ppg.

The 12 team WBA, in its second year of existence, is a developmental professional league designed to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to NBA, NBDL, CBA, and International Scouts while providing each community an exciting brand of basketball and entertainment. The purpose of the WBA, under new Commissioner Mike Glenn, is to serve as a training ground to develop professional players, coaches, and personnel on and off the court. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, career development, community involvement, and education. The WBA is the next best thing to the NBA! The WBA will hold its Free Agent Draft Camp on April 15-16 at Life University in Marietta, Georgia.
