
George and Cormier on NHL Central Scouting Initial Player to Watch List

The Owen Sound Attack are proud to announce that rookie goaltender Carter George and sophomore forward Ben Cormier were two of 62 OHL players named on the National Hockey League Central Scouting October players to watch list for t he 2024 NHL draft.
George, the Attacks 53rd overall selection in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection is one of the top ranked goaltenders in the upcoming draft receiving a 'B' rating. The native of Thunder Bay, Ontario has had a solid start to his official rookie season with the Attack, sporting a 2.09 goals against average, a 0.930 save percentage and a 3-2-1-0 record.
"It's a great honour to be ranked this high, especially along side another great OHL goalie in Ryerson Leenders" said George. "I have and will continue to work really hard towards improve my game, help the team win and hopefully be a fit for an NHL team come draft time."
Cormier, the Attacks 11th overall selection in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection was rated as a player to watch, considered by NHL Scouts as a player that could land in the sixth or seventh round of the 2024 draft. The native of Ottawa, Ontario spent the offseason improving his game and the scouts have noticed and he has been rewarded registering two goals and two assists in ten games, just two points less than he did a season ago in 50 games.
"I am happy to have been recognized by NHL Central Scouting" said Cormier. "There is still a lot of work ahead and I am excited to continue to grow my game."
From the OHL, a total of five skaters received 'A' ratings indicating a potential first round candidate, 14 players were assigned 'B' ratings indicating a potential second or third round selection, and 19 received 'C' designations indicating a potential fourth or fifth round candidate, while 24 received 'W' ratings indicating potential sixth or seventh round picks.
All 20 OHL member teams are represented on the list. The list includes 33 OHL forwards, 22 defencemen and seven goaltenders.
Also, appearing on the list is Attack prospect Dean Letourneau who received a 'B' rating.

- A Rating - Indicates a first round candidate
- B Rating - Indicates a second or third round candidate
- C Rating - Indicates a fourth/fifth round candidate
- W Rating - Indicates a sixth/seventh round candidate
