SERIES PRIMER: The Generals host the Montgomery Biscuits (AA, Tampa Bay Rays) for the first time in 2019. The two North Division playoff entrants from 2018 will play only 18 games this season, with thirteen of them coming in the Second Half. The Generals were the only team to win four games against the Biscuits in the First Half, but Montgomery took home the North Division title to earn a playoff bid.

LAST GAME: Pearl, Miss. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, took their Saturday series finale at Mississippi with a 7-3 win over the Braves. Jackson (43-37) recovered from a no-hit effort Friday night with eight of their starting nine reaching base, finishing their ten-game road trip with a 4-6 mark. TODAY'S PITCHING MATCHUP: In his previous look at the Montgomery Biscuits, Kevin McCanna threw five innings with four hits allowed, two earned runs, two walks and four strikeouts in a loss. Four of McCanna's last five outings have been in relief, but even so, he hasn't given up multiple runs in an appearance since a June 3 start at Birmingham, showing especially well against right-handed hitters (.200 BAA). He faces Josh Fleming, who is coming off a quality start against Jacksonville (7.0 IP, 3 ER). Fleming allowed 5 earned runs to Jackson over 5.0 IP in a loss on May 26.

FLIP THE SWITCH: The Generals' three best hitters since the All-Star Break --- Jeffrey Baez (.364 BA), Ryan Grotjohn (.310), and Jazz Chisholm (.300) --- are all off to hot starts after batting below .250 in the First Half.
