Belleville Bulls News Release
OSHAWA, ON - The Belleville Bulls travelled to Oshawa to take on the Confernce leading Generals in the final game of the 2014/2015 OHL regular season. The Generals opened the scoring early into the contest and never looked back firing 60 plus shots on net and downing the visiting Bulls 3-1 at the General Motors Centre.
The Generals jumped out to an early lead when 1995-born left-winger Tobias Lindberg beat rookie Connor Hicks just 48 seconds in. Brent Pedersen and Anthony Cirelli were credited with the assists on the games opening goal.
Belleville had an answer three minutes later, however. Chatam, Ontario native Trent Fox broke into the Oshawa zone and went bar down for his 13th of the campaign. Jesse Saban and Hicks picked up the assists. Oshawa led 16-7 in shots after the first 20 minutes of action.
The Gens were at it again to start the second stanza. At 2:45 forward Michael Turner netted his 6th of the year from Waterdown, Ontario native Stephen Templeton and winger Joe Manchurek. Belleville had the lone power play opportunity in the frame but the visitors could not capitalize on the man advantage.
Oshawa extended their lead with another early goal. Just under two and a half minutes into the final stanza, New Jersey native Chris Carlisle buried his 7th of the year on the power play. Bradley Latour and Michael McCarron picked up assists on the only goal of the period.
Netminder Connor Hicks made 62 saves and earned second star honours. The Bulls finish the regular season at 27-33-3-5.
