Oshawa, ON- The Oshawa Generals announced today they have acquired Lleyton Moore and draft selections from the Niagara IceDogs in exchange for Jack Studnicka and Matt Brassard.

Generals receive:

- Defenceman Lleyton Moore

- 3 x 2nd Round Draft Selections

- 3 x 3rd Round Draft Selections

Generals trade:

- Jack Studnicka

- Matt Brassard

"Jack came in following our Memorial Cup year and right away proved he was a leader and the exact guy we needed to build our team around," said Vice President and General Manager Roger Hunt following the trade. "While playing with the Gens he has represented Canada at the Under-17, Under-18 and World Junior level. It was a no brainer for him to become our captain two years ago and he will always be remembered as one of the great captains of the Oshawa Generals."

The other part of the trade sees Brassard head to Niagara with Studnicka. "Matt was acquired in a trade from Barrie and his OHL career took off after joining our club, which lead to him to being drafted by Vancouver," said Hunt. "I'd like to extend the organizations sincerest best wishes as both players continue on their hockey careers."

Moore, a defenceman, is in his first Ontario Hockey League Season. He has two goals and eight assists during his rookie campaign with a plus/minus rating of 19. Moore was drafted in the first round, 12th Overall in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection this past spring. Last season he played for the Toronto Marlboros, where he co-captained the team. "Lleyton is a dynamic, skilled, young defenceman, who was highly touted in his draft year," said Hunt. "He is a puck mover with a very good knack for offensive instincts. He will be a huge asset for our organization with the direction we are going."
