
Gene Makowsky Added to "Rider Night"

Swift Current, SK - Longtime guard for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Gene Makowsky has been added to the list of special guests that will be making an appearance on "Rider Night" Saturday, February 12th when the Broncos host the Kootenay Ice at the Credit Union i-Plex.
Makowsky is entering his 17th season with the Roughriders. The 6'3", 300-pound Saskatoon, SK product was drafted by the Riders in the second round/23rd overall of the 1995 CFL College Draft. Over the course of his career, he has been named West Division All-Star seven times, CFL All-Star five times and CFL's Most Outstanding Lineman twice
Aside from football, Makowsky is a current candidate for the Saskatchewan Party with hopes of running for office in the Regina Dewdney constituency in 2011. He also donates a lot of his time to giving back to the community and charities.
Makowsky will join slotback Chris Getzlaf, defensive end Brent Hawkins and defensive tackle Marcus "Chunky" Adams for the first-ever "Rider Night" and will be available for autographs up until the end of the first intermission.
