
Geisler activated, Bisaillon recalled to Springfield

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, announced defenseman Beau Geisler has been activated off the three-day injured reserve list and rookie defenseman Sebastien Bisaillon (Bee-SIGH-yoan) has been recalled from the Thunder to Springfield.
Geisler is expected to return to the lineup today in a 4:00 p.m. game against the Fresno Falcons at Stockton Arena.
Geisler, 26, has tallied two assists in four games this year for the Thunder. Geisler appeared in 65 games last season while leading all Stockton defenseman with 43 points (8g-35a) and 35 assists, ranking second on the Thunder in assists, tying for 10th among ECHL defensemen in scoring and leading the league's defensemen with 28 power-play assists. The Coleraine, Minn. native helped guide the Thunder to its first Kelly Cup Playoff berth in 2006-07 with a 38-24-10 record (86 points) and earned a spot in the National Conference starting lineup at the 2007 Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game, registering an assist.
Bisaillon, 20, has scored four goals and two assists in five games this year with the Thunder, tying for the ECHL lead in goals among defenseman. Bisaillon appeared in two regular season games with the Oilers last year, making his NHL debut on March 19 against the Vancouver Canucks and spent time this season in training camp with Edmonton, appearing in one preseason game (2-1 win at Phoenix on September 25). In two games this year with Springfield, Bisaillon tallied two assists.
The Mont-Laurier, Quebec native spent five seasons (2002-07) of his junior hockey career with the Val d'Or Foreurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, scoring 189 points (66g-123a) in 263 career games and scored 18 points (4g-14a) in 32 career playoff games.
Host of the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game and festivities on Jan. 22 and 23, the Thunder has led the ECHL in attendance for two consecutive seasons and drew 244,085 fans to Stockton Arena in 2006-07.
