
Wranglers Bounce RoadRunners 5-1

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Tyler Mosienko and Curtis Fraser each tallied a goal and added three assists and the Las Vegas Wranglers swept a two-game weekend series defeating the Phoenix RoadRunners 5-1 before 3,166 at US Airways Center in ECHL action Sunday.
For a second straight game, Las Vegas (7-2-0) jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead. Gerry Burke opened the scoring just 2:52 into the period beating RoadRunners goalie Cody Rudkowsky with a shot along the ice and giving the Wranglers a 1-0 lead. Brandon Kaleniecki made it 2-0 just 1:34 seconds later scoring a shorthanded goal off a long lead pass from the Las Vegas zone.
Fraser added to the lead late in the second period scoring his first career goal at 18:43 on the power play.
Mosienko made it 4-0 scoring his third goal of the year at 7:17 of the third period. Aaron Power then gave the Wranglers a commanding 5-0 advantage beating Rudkowsky with a one-time slap shot from just inside the blue line at 9:28 on the power play. Justin Maiser scored the lone RoadRunners (5-7-0) goal of the night tipping Brian Yandle's pass by the stick of Las Vegas goal Tim Boron at 12:04 of the third period.
Phoenix out-shot Las Vegas 38-35. Rudkowsky stopped 30 shots but fell to 2-5-0 on the season. The RoadRunners went 0-6 on the power play while Las Vegas was 2-6 with the man-advantage.
Notes: The RoadRunners were shutout on the power play in consecutive games for the first time this season. Phoenix was 0-13 in the two-game series against Las Vegas...Maiser scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season and is tied for third overall in the ECHL...Daniel Sisca's four-game assist streak came to an end...The RoadRunners will be off all next week before beginning an eight-game road trip Nov. 20 at Las Vegas. Phoenix is the last ECHL team to play a game on the road. The RoadRunners will play 25 of their next 32 games away from US Airways Center.

Phoenix returns to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 as they open a two-game series with the visiting Victoria Salmon Kings.
