SYRACUSE (NY) â Syracuse SkyChiefs pitcher Chad Gaudin had a perfect game broken-up by Ryan Hankins' line-drive single to leadoff the ninth inning. Gaudin then retired the next three batters ending the game with a one-hit shutout leading the SkyChiefs to a 3-0 victory over the Clippers. Gaudin's one-hitter is the 26th 9 inning one-hitter in Syracuse history and the 36th one-hitter overall (includes 7 inning games and one 6 inning game shortened by rain).
The last one-hit game for Syracuse came on May 18, 2002 when Mark Hendrickson and Brian Bowles combined on a one-hitter against Indianapolis. The last individual to throw a one-hitter was Roy Halladay who did so against Charlotte on July 20, 1998.
